About CANCEA
Founded in 2002, the Canadian Centre for Economic Analysis is an independent, interdisciplinary socio-economic analytics and advisory organization.
CANCEA is the Symcura-family specialist for socioeconomic evidence, public-policy analysis and systems modelling. Symcura is the parent and conceptual home for the family; CANCEA remains the buyer-facing organization for this work.
Purpose
Our purpose is to enable intelligent and responsible decision-making through modelling and analysis that connects economic, social, health, demographic, financial and infrastructure outcomes.
We work from the premise that systems are more than the sum of their parts. A policy, investment or market change affects households, businesses, governments and places at the same time, so our analysis is designed to follow those connections.
Leadership
Founder & President
Paul has more than 30 years of experience in socio-economic modelling, economic contribution, health and social-value analysis, long-horizon projections and evidence-based policy research. Since founding CANCEA, he has led research across infrastructure, housing, labour markets, health, finance and public policy.
Chief Computational Scientist
David has more than 15 years of experience in socio-economic research, geospatial and demographic modelling, data integration and analytical quality assurance. He leads the design and implementation of CANCEA's computational and agent-based modelling frameworks.
Research & delivery partnerships
CANCEA collaborates with academic researchers, technical specialists, consulting firms and domain experts where complementary expertise strengthens the work. Partnerships can range from a defined modelling workstream to joint research, methodological review or integrated project delivery.
We keep roles, methods, data provenance and attribution explicit so the combined work remains transparent and defensible.
